New Orleans guitarist Andrew Block has been making a name for himself since the mid 90's, when he began doing live gigs with his family at bars in West Palm Beach. It became evident at a very young age that music was his calling and he's been playin' around the clock ever since. Andrew honed his soulful style in the church, developing a passion for the groove/pocket style that gospel music deserves.

After moving to Tallahassee, FL in 2003, he was immediately thrust into a vibrant local music scene, and began making a name for himself as both a guitarist and bandleader. In 2008, he was called on by guitar virtuoso, Matt Grondin, to join Inca Maya. With Inca Maya he toured around the southeast U.S., playing festivals such as the Warren Haynes Christmas Jam, Wanee Festival, Bear Creek Music Festival, and others, as well as opening for the likes of Ivan Neville's Dumpstaphunk, J.J. Grey and Mofro, Blues Travler, and more. In 2009, Andrew became a permanent resident of the fabled city of music, New Orleans, where he continues on his journey to play with and learn from some of the the best musicians in the world. In 2011, Andrew became a full-time member of New Orleans' power-funk outfit, Big Sam's Funky Nation. In 2012, he joined forces with Terence Higgins, Nigel Hall, Calvin Turner, and many other guests to record a new album with Terence's group, Swamp Grease, which should be released sometime later this year!!
Andrew has had the opportunity to perform with:
Dumpstaphunk, Dr. Klaw, George Porter Jr., Ivan Neville, Jean Knight, Fred Wesley, Pee Wee Ellis, Eric Krasno, Adam Deitch, Nigel Hall, Ian Neville, Johnny Vidacovich, Kofi Burbridge, Marco Benevento, Russell Batiste, Nikki Glaspie, Kirk Joseph, Al Evans, Randall Bramblet, Robert Walter, Skerik, Papa Mali, The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, The Lee Boys, Papa Grows Funk, Glen David Andrews, James Andrews, & The Honey Island Swamp Band.
