Weather Forecast Looks Perfect!!!!

We have all been holding our breath here in Live Oak, keeping our fingers crossed that Hurricane Ida would either miss us in Live Oak or blow past us prior to Bear Creek. Incredibly, both of these ideal scenario seem to be coming true. The weather forecast for Thursday through Sunday is festival perfect. High's in the upper 70's, lows in the upper 50's and warm autumn sunshine. looks like the best weather we have ever had. Bring it on!!!!!!

Costume Party!!!!

A bunch of Bear Creek veterans and a few noobs requested that we hold an annual costume party at the festival. Sounded like a great idea to us. We want the energy from Halloween and Friday the 13th to spill over into our first annual Saturday Night Costume Party.

Best costume winner will receive 2 VIP tickets to Bear Creek 2010.

Lineup Additions

It is with great pleasure that we announce that Bernie Worrell will be joining the party as a special guest artist, sitting in this year with Third Stone and as an artist-at-large. Many of you will recall that Bernie was the original keyboard/sythesizer player with Parliment/ Funkadelic. He is also well known for his many years touring with the Talking Heads.

Old friends Cadillac Jones and Jacksonville’s Saltwater Grass have been added to Bear Creek, as well as a second show by The Ryan Montbleau Band.

We have added guitar slingers Matt Grondin (Inca Maya) and Cameron Williams (Tishamingo) and trombonist Jonathan Lloyd (Dubconscious and Cadillac Jones) to the mix as artists-at-large.

Bobby Lee Rogers will be joining the Donna Hopkins Band for their Bear Creek set.

We realize that many of you have jobs, school and life to get back to after your Bear Creek experience. We suggest ignoring these realities for an extra day because you should NEVER MISS SUNDAY AT BEAR CREEK. Feed the Hungry

In the spirit of the holidays and charity, particularly during such difficult financial times, we are humbled to announce that the Bear Creek Music and Art Festival will be hosting a food drive to support our friends at The Food Bank of Suwannee Valley. This organization has been feeding thousands of area residents over many years. Please bring canned and non-perishable goods to Bear Creek and leave them in our receptacle barrels. Everyone has a few items buried deep in your pantries that you never use. We assure you that this food will help a hungry person sleep better at night having something good in their stomch.

Food Drive Prizes: Any festival goer who turns in five or more food items for our annual food drive supporting the Suwannee Valley Food Bank will receive a copy of the festival poster and a Bear Creek sticker.

Feed the Hungry Disc Golf Event

With the rapid approach of Thanksgiving, we have turned our thoughts to gratitude and helping those less fortunate than ourselves. With this in mind, we will be hosting the second annual Feed the Hungry Disc Golf Tournament on Saturday, November 14th during the 2010 Bear Creek Music and Art Festival. Funds raised during the event will support The Suwannee Valley Food Bank. Competitors are also encouraged to bring non-perishable food items for donation.

The event is designed as a fun way for disc golfers of all abilities to spend a few hours in the beautiful woods behind the Spirit of the Suwannee Country Store. First time players are particularly encouraged to participate. The event format will be best shot doubles played from the recreational set of tees. Recreational players will be randomly paired with more advanced players.

Each competitor will receive a full-color commemorative Bear Creek Music and Art Festival golf disc, so you don’t even need to bring your own equipment to play. The tournament entry fee is $20 per player. Tournament registration will take place in front of the Country Store from 8-10am on Saturday and tee-off will take place shortly after 10am, with the event concluding around 1pm. We hope to see abunch of fun loving disc throwers come out to support The Suwannee Valley Food Bank!!!

The winning team members will each receive two complimentary admissions to the 2011 Bear Creek Music and Art Festival!!!

For additional information on the event, please feel free to contact the tournament director, Denny Ritner @ mritner@knights.ucf.edu or (727) 512-9696.
