Eric Krasno is a founding member of Soulive and hip-hop production team Fyre Dept. Soulive has released records on Velour Recordings, Blue Note and recently released No Place Like Soul on the legendary Stax label. Soulive has toured the US and globe, playing in Africa, Japan, Russia, Brazil and has opened for the Rolling Stones and Dave Matthews Band. Since forming in 1999, Soulive has developed a reputation as one of the most sought after instrumental soul-funk trios around, a hard-touring live act that’s thrown down everywhere from small rock clubs to major festivals worldwide. Chapter 2 is the next phase in the story of Eric and his longtime collaborator, drummer Adam Deitch, alongside vocalist and keyboardist Nigel Hall and bassist Louis Cato. Eric has worked also with countless musicians, from jazz icons Joshua Redman, Dr. Lonnie Smith and Chaka Khan to hip hop visionaries like 50-Cent, GZA and Talib Kweli. He is known throughout jazz, funk, and hip-hop circles for his virtuosic playing and production talents.
